Rev Aleksa Pavichevich was born February 7th, 1981, in Plainfield, New Jersey to his parents Danilo and Barbara Pavichevich.  He graduated from high school, with a specialization in Russian Language in 1999, and in 2004 he received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering from The Ohio State University.  From 2009-2011 he worked at Flood Heliarc, Inc in Columbus, Ohio as a Systems Engineer (also in charge of IT); in 2011 he began working at Amherst City Schools in Amherst, Ohio, as a Technology Technician.

With the encouragement of his parish priest, Rev Isak Kisin, and his uncle, Proto Dennis Pavichevich, and by the blessing of His Grace Bishop Dr. +MITROFAN, Rev Aleksa enrolled at St Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary in Crestwood, New York.

On July 1st, before beginning his last year at seminary, Rev Aleksa was ordained to the Holy Diaconate.  He finished his last year serving at both St Sava’s Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in New York City and St Vladimir’s Seminary.  On campus, Father Aleksa’s worked in the technical support department and as a resident advisor for the 8-Plex and North Campus married students, in addition to his academic work.

Father Aleksa was ordained to the Holy Priesthood the day immediately following the Exaltation of the Precious and Life-giving Cross (September 28) in 2008.  Shortly thereafter he was assigned as the parish priest of St George Serbian Orthodox Church in Lorain, Ohio.

On September 18, 2004, Father Aleksa and his wife Emily were married in Columbus, Ohio at St Stevan of Dechani Serbian Orthodox Church.  Popadija Emily received her Bachelors Degrees in both Art (Visual Communication) and Business (Marketing) at Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio.  She received her Masters in Public and Urban Education from Mercy College in the Bronx, New York, while working as a special education teacher (K-2) at P10X.

Father Aleksa and Papadija Emily have three Children:  Sophia Mariana (born August 14, 2007), Lazar Aleksandar (April 8, 2009) and Zora Emilija (October 31, 2011).
