Orthodox on Tumblr?
I have to admit, I’m a little impressed at the Orthodox presence on Tumblr. Over the last couple of days, since I made my first “Orthodox” tag in an article, I’ve had people message me from America, Greece and Romania.
As a young, Serbian Orthodox priest here in Lorain, Ohio, I just wondered to the greater Orthodox Tumblr community out there - any questions? Not just on theological issues, but also on practical ones. IE, what’s the most challenging situation I’ve faced as a priest? What was seminary like? What’s my favorite Lenten dish? How do you develop (or find) a user-friendly database to track your collection of comic books?
Okay, maybe that last one isn’t faith-related… but that’s the point. I’d love to entertain any genuine, curious questions about anything. I’m an Orthodox Christian priest who is a movie lover, avid reader, comic book fan, (former) bass guitar player, computer whiz, thirty-year old, father of 3 kids, tech junkie, programmer, web developer, designer… and more.
I got onto Tumblr to help communicate my ongoing work for InspireBulletins, but have since decided to broaden my scope a bit. So thanks to all those who sent me a greeting and a question - please send more! :-)
(PS - the included photo is me serving at Decani Monastery in Kosovo last July! One of the most amazing experiences of my life, spiritual or otherwise.)
