Photos from PASCHA - the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ - at St George Serbian Orthodox Church
fresco from Mileševa, a Serbian Orthodox monastery located near Prijepolje, in southwest Serbia.
St George took a pilgrimage there in 2011 - it was amazing!
Students from Hellenic College Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology sing at the informal memorial set up for victims of the Boston Marathon at Boylston Street.
They’re singing Αγνή Παρθένε (in Greek and English).
One of my favorite hymns!
Greetings all - I’ve really tried to harness the power of social media outlets to streamline communication with my Church, while at the same time broadening our exposure to the world-wide community. Now that we’ve established a nice community on FB, Twitter and (my personal favorite) Tumblr, I’d like to involve our new friends to join us as stewards!
We’re trying a new bi-annual, fundraiser - a “Virtual Coffee Hour.” The concept behind this is to combine the social aspect of coffee hour with our modern-love of fancy coffees so that we can generate funds for our parish.
If you feel so inclined, donate the equivalent of a fancy cup of coffee to our small, growing, Orthodox community in South Lorain, Ohio - small amounts in large numbers make a big difference!!!
During this fundraiser (throughout March) I’ll be posting a fact about coffee and an Orthodox Quote every day… so enjoy, comment, and donate. :-)
